Tampa Bay: A Blend of Urban Energy and Costal Serenity

View of Downtown Tampa from the Harbor.

Welcome to Tampa! As the only major city on the gulf side of Florida, Tampa has the unique advantage of sunsets at the beach, instead of the sunrises found in the rest of the state.

Nestled along Florida’s Gulf Coast, Tampa Bay isn’t just a destination; it’s an experience. The region captures hearts with its urban vibrancy, historic charm, and specifically the unique waterfront, which has calmer waves and white sand beaches.

Popular Areas:

Downtown Tampa: The city’s pulse, Downtown Tampa is teeming with contemporary art installations, waterfront parks like Curtis Hixon, and the famed Tampa Riverwalk—a scenic path tracing the Hillsborough River’s edge.

Ybor City: Tampa’s historic Latin Quarter. Cobblestone streets, vintage streetcars, and cigar shops pay homage to the city’s rich immigrant history. By night, Ybor transforms into a lively nightlife hotspot.

Things To Do

The Florida Aquarium:  Located in the Channel District, this acclaimed aquarium is home to a diverse array of marine life, from coral reefs to shark habitats. The aquarium is a great way to safely view the animals of Florida, without disturbing them.

The Tampa Theatre: An opulent movie palace dating back to the 1920s, this historic theater offers not just films but also architectural grandeur and frequent special events.

Bayshore Boulevard: Known for its continuous sidewalk, the longest in the world, this boulevard provides breathtaking views of the bay, ideal for jogging, biking, or simply relishing the sunset.

St Petersburg & Clearwater: Costal Companions of Tampa

St. Petersburg and Clearwater are two large nearby cities to Tampa, and can be thought of almost as sister cities. Which each city will have a unique set of perks, they are fairly unique and are all connected by a series of bridges that ride over the Tampa bay, the longest of which is called the Skyway, which offers picturesque views as far as the eye can see!

St. Petersburg

St. Petersburg is known for it’s recent revitalization into a town for younger people, however, that doesn’t mean that it’s lacking in history. The canals of St. Petersburg are a UNESCO World Heritage Site and provide a unique way to see the city. The Hermitage Museum offers a collection that is world-renowned. And St. Pete Beach is known for powdery-white sand and crystal clear water! St Petersburg is great for younger people who want the party vibe of Miami, but in a more laid back and relaxed setting.

The Dali Museum: Located in St Petersburg, the Dali museum houses the largest collection of Salvador Dali’s works outside Europe! This architectural marvel is as striking from the outside as the masterpieces it holds within.

Central Avenue: A hub for local boutiques, eclectic eateries, and vibrant murals, this avenue encapsulates St. Pete’s artsy soul. And I’m not joking about the murals; they’re everywhere!

Clearwater

Clearwater was named for something, but I can’t remember what. The city features a strong college scene, as well as beautiful beaches to watch the sunset at.

Clearwater Beach: Frequently touted as one of the nation’s best, its powdery white sands and clear waters are a perennial attraction for beachgoers.

Pier 60: A famed spot for fishing and catching sunsets, this pier turns into a festive marketplace in the evenings, with artisans, performers, and musicians.
